Lady Gaga wants her fans to know she and Katy Perry have nothing in common.

Demi Lovato Slams Lady Gaga For SXSW Vomit Stint

During an hour-long keynote speech at the SXSW festivities in Austin, TX earlier this week, Lady Gaga opened up about her thoughts on people comparing her to the Unconditional singer after her Applause single was released the same day as Perry's Roar back in August.

She told the audience in the Sheraton Hotel, "I don't know what all I have to do with Katy Perry. Our music is so completely different. I couldn't be more different, really. I really don't fit in pop music in a way, but I came through it and I'd like to think I changed it in some way so you can feel like you don't have to fit into a mold."

The 27-year-old singer also dished out sarcastic comments about her latest ARTPOP album sales.

"We've sold over 2.5 million copies of ARTPOP all over the world. I'm sorry I didn't sell a million records the first week, but I have before!"

She added that she was proud of how many albums she's sold but she feels she is put in a different category than her musical counterparts.

"We sold as much as everybody else. [It seems like] when it comes to me, everybody forgets where the music business is now."

The What You Want singer also revealed that there is indeed a second version of ARTPOP on the horizon and new projects that she plans to release soon.

"I've chosen not to put [them] into the system...because sometimes it's just fun to have records that me and my friends listen to. We love [them] and don't care what anybody else thinks... [but] maybe one day I'll release them."
