Teen Wolf's Allison Argent has laid down her bow and arrow for the final time.

The character's death came in response to Crystal Reed's (Allison) desire to depart the series in order to explore other avenues in her career, but, despite this, Reed was just as sad as many viewers when it came time to say goodbye to the resilient hunter.

"I'm feeling really sad because I love Allison so much. She's just such a young person and she died really abruptly," Reed explained on the After After Show. "I sometimes find it hard to differentiate between Allison and I because I think we're so similar and so the experience of playing her has a direct reflection on my life in the past three years. I have really, really learned a lot about myself and I think I learned a lot about her."

As the shock of Allison's sudden death wears off, many viewers may be contemplating the character's last words. Considering Allison's breakup with Scott (Tyler Posey) and recent attraction to Isaac (Daniel Sharman), some would consider it odd that she closed out her life by telling Scott that she would always love him.

Reed, however, explained to Entertainment Weekly that love isn't just romantic and walked fans through her final scene.

"So, as she was dying and she had her last breath, I was saying my lines and I kept saying, 'I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you.' And I remember one of the producers came over and said, 'Please don't say that because she loves Isaac,'" Reed said. "[But] I do feel like Allison still loves Scott. And I think in that moment, she said she loves him because that's still there. So it was hard for me to hold back those feelings because as an actor, I feel like that's still there."

In a season chuck full of intense scenes, Allison's death does not mark the end. Teen Wolf still has to take care of the Nogitsune in the season finale, "The Divine Move" (see video below).

Teen Wolf airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on MTV.
