The 38-year-old vet's new single, You're My Star dropped on iTunes just a few days ago and he is gearing up for his new album, Stronger, due to release this summer. However, unlike some of his fellow artists in the field, he is determined to bring the love back to R&B, a genre that has been more interested in shock value as of late.

"The guy cheating and frolicking around with two or more women on television is celebrated more than the man who is faithful to his wife," Tank told Enstars reporter Gia Peppers.

This is a radical change from the genre R&B was when Tank first signed in 1998. Back then, the music was based on love and various aspects of it.

But now, in Billboards' Hip Hop and R&B charts, amongst the top 10 hits are songs like Ty Dolla $igns' Paranoid, Kid Ink's Show Me, and Jason Derulo's Talk Dirty. The songs may still have all the technical makings of the genre, but the content is focused on everything but love. And with social media playing a major part in music sales, going against the norm isn't an easy task.

"We are more into the shock value age where somebody doing something extremely stupid gets more press than someone actually doing something great. That's where love kind of lost its' legs," Tank, who is also known as 'The General', said.

An example of one artist who has embodied this lately is none other than his close friend, Chris Brown, whose behavior has become more famous than his music.

With reports surfacing yesterday that the 24-year-old star was kicked out of his court-ordered anger management rehab and sent back to jail, his chances of returning to his once lovable image are getting increasingly more slim.

However, Tank, who wrote Brown's 2007 hit I Wanna Be, and collaborated with him on the 2013 song Shots Fired, said he still has faith in a Chris Brown comeback.

"I think that he is going to shoulder his responsibilities and accept the things that come along with his actions and everything else," Tank said. "I have no doubt in my mind that CB is going to be alright."

"He is going to be a man about what he has to do and it is what it is," he added. "We are all imperfect people and it's tough that, that kid has had all of his imperfections viewed through a microscope in front of millions and millions of people. So, I just continue to pray for him and he is going to be alright."

Brown is due to release a duet with pop sweetheart Ariana Grande after the smoke clears from his recent drama, and like Tank, many of his longtime fans are hopeful that the new duet will bring Brown back to them for good, without the drama attached.
