The 32-year-old, who has been on Grey's Anatomy twice before, is set to appear in an episode in May and for a few episodes to follow. However, more details regarding her return haven't been released.

When Private Practice ended in 2013, the actress expressed her desire to appear on Grey's Anatomy again.

"That would be wonderful," she previously told TVGuide.com. "They have been so good to me here in Shondaland, if they ever wanted me to come and do a guest spot or anything - cook a soufflé - I would do anything."

As EnStars also reported, Isaiah Washington is also set to reprise his role as Dr. Preston Burke for one episode in May. His appearance will play a significant role in the departure of Sandra Oh's character, Dr. Cristina Yang, at the end of the season.

"It's important to me that Cristina's journey unfolds exactly as it should," said show creator Shonda Rhimes in a statement. "Burke is vital to that journey - he gives her story that full-circle moment we need to properly say goodbye to our beloved Cristina Yang."
