When Sadler asked Mendes about her new movie, How To Catch a Monster, the 40-year-old actress couldn't help but gush about the 33-year-old, who wrote and directed the film.

"He really created the most beautiful, collaborative, creative atmosphere on set," Mendes said. "I know I'm biased."

"He's the best," she added. "He's the best."

This marks the first time Mendes has publicly mentioned Gosling and acknowledged her relationship with the actor, and seems to point out that reported problems in her relationship have been greatly exaggerated.

Rumors have been flying about the couple for months, as they haven't been seen in public together in 5 months. Reports have gone far enough to say the couple has reportedly broken up due to each wanting different things. While some sources have claimed that Mendes had no interest in having a baby, others have claimed that the couple continues to have problems due to Gosling not making an effort to propose to his longtime girlfriend.

Rumors also recently had Gosling getting back in touch with his ex-girlfriend and The Notebook co-star, Rachel McAdams.

"Rachel has been very low-key about it all," a source said. "She's played it very smart and used the whole 'just friends' angle to get close to Ryan again, but she 100 percent wants him back. He's not the cheating type, but he hasn't been honest with Eva about how much contact he has with Rachel."
