The Bachelorette 2012 Recap: Emily Maynard Sends Ryan Home, Doesn't Hand Out Final Rose

Emily Maynard made brave decisions on yesterday's episode of The Bachelorette.

Maynard left her daughter Ricki behind and embarked to Croatia with the eight remaining guys.

First she handed a date card to Travis. The couple spent the day walking around the town and danced but he didn't win her heart and she sent him home and he was visibly devastated.

"Rejection does suck ... suck with a capital S-U-C-K," he said. "There's gotta be someone to settle down with ... It's a different kind of hurt."

Maynard had a group date with John, Doug, Sean, Jef, Chris and Arie. They watched a segment of Pixar's "Brave." Then they competed in a series of games.

Sean won everything and Chris performed the worst, yet he won the bravery cup from Maynard.

"I gave it my all and I ended up in last. ... It's frustrating," Chris said after the games.

At the cocktail hour Maynard and Ari kiss passionately but she handed the rose to Chris.

Then Maynard and Ryan went on a date. Meanwhile the guys talk about how much they think Ryan is annoying.

Maynard and Ryan drive and head to another town to go oyster fishing and he calls her a "trophy wife."

At dinner he reads to her the 12 qualities he is looking in his wife: loyal, logical, encouraging, faithful, nurturing, confident, magnetic, loves to laugh, family-focused, unselfish, beautiful and sexy.

But Maynard tells him: "On the top of my list would be a loving family. It wasn't on yours," and she lets him know she is not giving him the rose.

Then Ryan spents few minutes trying to convince her that she is making the wrong decision but she stands with her choice.

Arie escapes the suite and goes to see Maynard at her hotel.

At the rose ceremony, she gives roses first to Sean, Jef and Aurie and has one rose left. But she goes out for a second and returns for a shocking ending.

"I realized that I couldn't hand out the final rose," she tells John and Doug as they look astonished.

But then, Chris Harrison enters and gives her two roses and both get to stay.

Next week they go to Prague and Maynard finds out Arie had a relationship with the show's producer.
