American Horror Story will be going back to New Orleans for season 4, despite being the season being set in Florida.

Lea Michele "Begging" To Be Cast In American Horror Story?

A spokesman for 20th Century Fox Television confirmed (via NOLA) on Monday that American Horror Story would be shooting in New Orleans for season 4. Series co-creator Ryan Murphy previously revealed that the series would either be shooting in New Orleans or Santa Fe in season 4.

New Orleans was the primary location for season 3 of American Horror Story, subtitled Coven. The witch-themed season revolved around an academy of witches located in New Orleans.

Season 4 Based On Classic Carnival Movie?

For season 4, the horror anthology series is centered on a troupe of "freaks," led by star Jessica Lange's yet-unnamed character. Titled Freak Show, the new season takes place in 1950 in Jupiter, Fla., with several of the show's regular cast playing various "freaks."

Among the cast slated to star in Freak Show are Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Frances Conroy, who have appeared in every season of the show thus far, in addition to Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett who joined the show for Coven.

Coven regulars Denis O'Hare and Emma Roberts are also reportedly signing deals to appear in the season as well.

Other American Horror Story regulars like Lily Rabe and Taissa Farmiga have not been confirmed for season 4, as both actresses are busy with other projects.

American Horror Story season 4 premieres in fall 2014 on FX, though the network has not yet scheduled a specific air date.
