In the film, Schwarzenegger plays John "Breacher" Wharton, the commander of an elite squad of DEA operatives. In the trailer he is seen leading his team into a den of a drug cartel, the operatives are seen moving swiftly through the house, exterminating the criminals with their fire arms. There is a decent measure of violence and blood splattering in this unrated trailer.

In an interview with AFP the 66-year-old action star cited filmmakers like Brian De Palma, Walter Hill and Sam Peckinpah who depicted a lot of violence in their films, suggesting Sabotage is an homage to them.

Terminator: Genesis to Conflate Plots of The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day?

"It's a bit of an homage to the films that I grew up on, and directors like Brian De Palma, and Walter Hill and Sam Peckinpah who made very brutal kind of masculine movies," he said. "I think violence is political now: 'maybe if there is no violence in movies, there will be no violence in the world.' I don't believe that. The video games our children play are much, much more violent than anything in this movie."

Schwarzenegger suggested that he had no weapons training for the film and joked about having killed the most number people in film.

Schwarzenegger Reveals Multiple Terminator Versions of Him?

"There was the weapons training and I said, 'Why do I need weapons training? I mean, I've shot more guns than anyone in movie history," he said. "I've killed more people than anyone so why do we need to go through weapons training?' He said, 'Go down to the LA SWAT team and you have to figure this out. I want you to learn the ballet of this team'."

The former bodybuilder compared it to training in a gym, constantly repeating exercises to get better. "I think all of this preparation that he suggested was fantastic," he said.

Sabotage hits theaters on March 28.
