Wesley revealed that his character has "made peace" with Damon and Elena's current relationship, but it doesn't mean he's completely cut his ex-love out of the equation.

"There are always residual feelings with anyone that you're ever with romantically," he told TVLine.

The 31-year-old actor also revealed that there's a lot coming up for Matt, the ex-boyfriend of Caroline and Elena.

"There's a scene between Matt and someone else that I can't name and there's a whole sequence and it's a beautiful sequence," he told E! Online. "It's very action-packed. I really enjoyed it."

The moment Wesley referred to will appear on the next episode, which he also directed. The actor revealed that he was directing episode 18 back in February when he uploaded photos on Twitter of the set.

In one photo, all that's visible is a huge blue screen and a female standing in front of it.

"Spending my Saturday night directing a blue screen shot," he wrote as the caption.
