The next episode of Bones will focus on some relatively heavy topics, including cancer and marijuana use.

Brennan & Booth Ready For Baby No. 2 To Join Christine on Bones?

The upcoming 20th episode of Bones season 9 is titled The High in the Low and features "squintern" Wendell Bray (guest star Michael Grant Terry) returning to the team amid cancer treatment.

Fox released a plot synopsis for the episode that explains that Wendell "returns after starting cancer treatments, and while working on the case, he starts to open up more about his illness, only to reveal some shocking news that may end in his termination."

It is possible that this episode may be the last that Bones fans see of Wendell, assuming his "termination" actually occurs.

Meanwhile, the Jeffersonian team is busy investigating "the death an art school dropout struggling with Lupus, whose remains were found inside a log in a forest."

The team soon learns that the victim was using cannabis to treat her ailments, which ultimately leads them to a dispensary where she worked. They then discover some "shocking details" that may explain the cause of her death.

The episode The High in the Low is set to air on Monday, April 7.
