"So You Think You Can Dance" cut its number of dancers to 35 on Wednesday's episode 9 after tough auditions in Las Vegas.
Wednesday's episode was dramatic as it kicked off with 181 dancers who would be eliminated throughout eight rounds of auditions until only 35 remain.
The competitors danced for their life to solo, coreography, ballroom, and contemporary rounds during an exhausting 4-day period.

Among the highlights of last night's episode was the performance of "The High Schoolers" who judges called "one of the best group performances in Vegas ever."
One of the dancers, Joshua, was rushed to the hospital after he flipped and landed wrong hitting his head. But he was ok, according to the promos for next week's episode.
Tears were also an important part of the show. One of the male contestants, Cyrus, cried when he made it to round 5 while the judges were tough on Alexa, a dancer from Las Vegas, criticizing she was “dead inside” and had no emotion.
The Top 20 will be unveiled on June 27 and the live episodes will kick off on July 11.
“So You Think You can Dance” is the version of “American Idol” for dancers. The show features talented dancers skilled in every genre from Hip Hop to Quickstep and Jive to compete for “America’s Favorite Dancer” title.
The show airs Wednesdays 8 p.m. EST
