There will be a large-scale battle in the upcoming fourth season of Game of Thrones that might just decide they fate of Westeros moving forward.

Arya "Leaves A Trail Of Blood" Behind Her In Season 4?

Game of Thrones executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss spoke with TV Guide in a Tuesday report about the upcoming fourth season of the show and teased that it will be the most action-packed set of episodes yet.

"Characters we've come to love find themselves in difficult and dire situations," Weiss teases in the report, with Benioff adding: "This is our biggest season for action and visual effects."

New Character Becomes "Dangerous" Threat To The Lannisters?

There will be a huge battle sequence in the season 4 finale that utilizes Europe's biggest green screen and 380 shots of visual effects (for reference, an average episode uses 90 shots of effects). The battle, which was filmed in Northern Ireland, will be a significant one on many levels.

"A big battle changes the fate of the kingdom," Weiss teases. "There will be a reckoning."

One of the more significant players in the upcoming fourth season is Jon Snow (Kit Harington), who was last seen with arrows sticking out of his back. The bastard son will have a big season after taking on a leadership position in the Night's Watch.

"For Jon, Season 4 is about becoming a leader," Harington says in the TV Guide report. "You'll see him on the battlefield rallying his men. He used to just absorb everything. Now he's doing the talking."

Game of Thrones season 4 premieres Sunday, April 6 at 9 p.m. on HBO.
