Johnny Depp confirmed his engagement to Amber Heard in an unconventional way.

The 50-year-old was asked to speak on the engagement rumors when he was promoting his new movie Transcendence in Beijing, China on Monday.

"The fact that I'm wearing a chick's ring on my finger is probably a dead giveaway. Not very subtle," he said, according to The Associated Press. He then showed off the feminine diamond rock on his ring finger.

Depp also spoke about the speculated upcoming ceremony and added: "I think that I would be better at making women's shoes than I would be at wedding planning, I can't plan anything. I'm really bad at that stuff."

The couple was rumored to be engaged after Heard was spotted with a diamond on her ring finger as she was leaving Ago restaurant in Los Angeles in January. View the ring here.

They later made a rare red carpet appearance at the 3 Days to Kill Los Angeles premiere in February. The private pair reportedly even kissed and held hands as they walked the red carpet to promote Heard's latest film.

The 27-year-old's costar, Kevin Costner, even spoke about the couple's relationship and said the two are fortunate to have found each other.

"We can't get in the way of love. And that's what they found," he told People magazine. "How lucky for them!"

Heard and Depp met on the set of The Rum Diary in 2009 but at the time he was still with longtime girlfriend Vanessa Paradis while the blonde beauty was dating photographer Tasya Van Ree.
