It was no secret that Hannah was thrilled about her acceptance into Iowa's two-year Writers' Workshop during the season 3 finale of Girls. But, would she really leave behind her boyfriend, friends and life in New York for grad school? The answer is yes.

According to new spoilers, Hannah will head to the Midwest next season indefinitely. It's unclear how Adam will take her move, although it was clear he was unhappy when she told him the news right before his Broadway debut on the finale.

The HBO series is also currently looking for the perfect location to use for the campus after the University of Iowa denied access to filming.

"While we are pleased that the Iowa Writers' Workshop is receiving national attention and that our graduate is doing well in her career, our general practice is to not allow filming, due to potential disruption to campus," UI spokesman Tom Moore said in a statement.

At her new school, Hannah will  meet some new friends, including an overly smart classmate with a difficult past and a very unique professor.

On March 31, the show's creator Lena Dunham, who also plays Hannah, announced that season 4 is underway.

"Today was first table read of @girlsHBO season 4! Still convinced I'm 9 years old & yet I've been simulating sex on TV for years now..." she tweeted.

She added, "It wouldn't be an @girlsHBO table read if the snack game wasn't strong. Ate two halves of halves of bagels #thinkaboutthat."
