Jason Katims told TVLine that the season 5 finale on April 17 "will give people, if not hope, at least something to hope for or talk about," in regards to the estranged couple.

He added, "there's been a lot of change for a lot of our characters [this season], and a lot of those changes come to a head in this last episode. It really does have a feeling of, 'So much has led to this moment,' and there are some nice questions about where things are going to lead, as well. [There's a nice] catharsis at the end."

Julia Gets Blamed For Her Situation With Joel

It became clear that Joel isn't ready to forgive Julia and it seems he may never do so.

The next episode of Parenthood airs on Thursday, April 3 on NBC at 10 p.m. EST.
