Already, American Idol is in its thirteenth season, and last week revealed its Top 8. So why, this week, does a Top 8 still remain?

Harry Connick Jr. Crushing On Fellow Judge Jennifer Lopez?

During last night's episode of the reality-singing competition, a Top 7 was expected to be revealed, however a Top 8 still remains. Judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr. unanimously decided to use their one and only save of the season, on a perhaps unsuspecting contestant.

According to a reader poll and previous voting patterns on American Idol Net, it was predicted that last night's bottom three would include CJ Harris, Dexter Roberts and Sam Woolf. While two of the three guesstimates were correct, some may have been surprised to find Malaya Watson sitting in the chair that was presumed would be for Roberts. Reportedly, she and Woolf had sang a dismal duet together, attempting to perform Lucky by Colbie Caillat and Jason Mraz. "I think this is an awkward song choice for them to sing and it is awkward to watch," said Gossip and Gab.

What's more, though Harris did find himself a seat in the bottom three, he did not have the least amount of votes as predicted. Instead, 17-year-old Woolf ended up singing for a chance to remain afloat in the competition. Good thing for him, he managed to do exactly that. There are no saves left in the competition, and a Top 7 will truly be revealed next week. Tune in to Fox on Thursday, April 10 at 9 p.m. to see who will continue on the journey to becoming the next American Idol.
