Entertainer Of The Year, ‘ACM Awards 2014’ Winner Is George Strait [VIDEO]

The fans have spoken, and one of the most prestigious awards given out at the Academy of Country Music Awards has gone to George Strait.

Strait beat out fellow nominees Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton and Taylor Swift for the prestigious Entertainer of the Year Award at the 2014 ceremony April 6 in Las Vegas.

The award, presented by Ram, was one of two voted on by fans leading up to the ceremony. Fans were able to log on until the day of the show to cast their votes for the winner.

Bryan has previously been six ACM awards since bursting onto the country music scene in 2010. In 2010, he won both Top New Artist and Top New Solo Vocalist. In 2013, he won Vocal Event of the Year for The Only Way I Know feat. Jason Aldean and Eric Church. He also won Entertainer of the Year in 2013. For this year's show, he was also nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for Crash My Party.

Lambert has been nominated for 25 ACM awards since 2005, winning Top New Female Vocalist in 2007, Album of the Year in 2008, 2010 and 2012 for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Revolution and Four The Record. She has also been the reigning Top Female Vocalist Winner since 2010, and has won Video of the Year in 2010 and 2011 for the songs White Liar, The House That Built Me and Only Prettier. She has also won Single of the Year for The House That Built Me and Over You, and Song of the Year for those songs as well. This year she was nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Single, Song and Video of the Year for Mama's Broken Heart, and Vocal Event of the Year.

Shelton has been nominated for 9 ACM awards since 2001, winning Vocal Event of the Year in 2010 for Hillbilly Bone, Male Vocalist of the Year in 2012, Song of the Year in 2013 for Over You, and the Gene Weed Special Achievement Award. He received five nominations at this year's ceremony, including Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for Based on a True Story, Song of the Year for Mine Would Be You, and Vocal Event of the Year for Boys 'Round Here.

Strait has won 13 ACM Awards over his 20+ year career in country music, including Entertainer of the Year in 1989, and is also a two-time Artist of the Decade winner as well.

Swift has won six ACM Awards in her career, including Entertainer of the Year in 2012. She was up for five nominations this year.
