Matty and Jenna fans may feel that a scene of them in bed together in a trailer for season 4 of Awkward seems promising for the couple, but a new interview hints that they won't actually be getting back together anytime soon.

Jenna And The New Girl Fight Over Matty And Suffer Through 'Cringe-Worthy' Session With Val?

In an April 2 Spoiler Chat on TVLine, it was revealed that Jenna will move on with a new guy, who was hinted at in the trailer -- college guy Luke (Evan Williams).

"As the end of high school approaches, Jenna decides she's looking for a more mature guy," new showrunners Chris Alberghini and Mike Chessler said.

Jenna Lonely In First Two Episodes Of Season 4?

The spoiler continues to say that her more mature guy will be Luke, who she appears to meet while on a college tour. When she begins dating him, it could affect her friends with benefits relationship with Matty.

However, though she will move on in later episodes, an official synopsis for the season premiere hints that Jenna will still experience feelings for the ex-boyfriend she left behind back in season 3.

"Jenna is determined to make a fresh start; lingering feelings for Matty harden Jenna's resolve," a synopsis on Spoiler TV reads.

The previously released trailer for the season showed Matty and Jenna trying to navigate the tricky territory of friends with benefits, likely a result of the lingering feelings the couple has for one another. However, after the new girl, Eva (Elizabeth Whitson) enters the picture, Jenna could become jealous, fueling her new romance with Luke.

Awkward season 4 premieres Tuesday, April 15 at 10 p.m. on MTV.
