On April 13, AMC will debut the first episode of Mad Men's final season, which may be sad news for not only fans of the show, but also for its main character, Don Draper.

Don Draper Faces The Consequences Of His Actions In 'Mad Men' Season 7?

The television period drama, which first premiered back in summer 2007, will air its final season in two seven-episode parts, beginning this Sunday. While the second half of the season will air in spring 2015, neither part sounds good for Draper. Though, "The dresses are shorter, the women are bolder and the weather is sunnier," Mad Men's main man has reportedly hit rock bottom, having never been "more at odds with the changing world around him."

Monday, Reuters reported that in the upcoming premiere episode, the year is 1968 and Draper is feeling out of place amongst "the vibrant, funky atmosphere and social upheaval" all around him, as he begins to suffer from a secret identity crisis and career related issues.

The 43-year-old actor, Jon Hamm, who plays the role of Don Draper, described Draper's situation as a "pretty dismal... very dark place." What's more, according to the source, "At the end of season six, Don's internal struggle with his real identity as the orphaned Dick Whitman - an identity he has kept hidden - starts to rear its head. As his Madison Avenue advertising company SC&P plans to expand to sunny Los Angeles, Don is suspended from work by his partners, and takes his young children to Pennsylvania to see the destitute house he grew up in."
