It looks like Will and Layla may end up officially tying the knot when Nashville returns, which will likely have some heartbreaking results.

On Tuesday, TV Guide revealed a little information on the upcoming marriage that's supposed to happen between Will and Layla. Apparently, if things go according to Will's plan, then the wedding will likely happen even though he's gay. But despite his plans working out, there is a good chance that he'll regret making that decision.

"Will is committed to the idea of keeping his secret, and in his mind, Layla is a great way of doing that," executive producer Callie Khouri said. "It's a terrible position for him to be in because he's having to live a secret. He's starting to feel increasingly bad about that."

Khouri then mentioned intriuging news about Gunnar, giving speculation on if he'll be the one to expose Will's secret or not.

"Gunnar's at his wit's end with how far he's willing to take this charade with Will," Khouri said.

Chris Carmack, who plays Will, recently told TV Line that his character is deluding himself mainly because of his career.

"The career aspect of it is probably one of the biggest reasons he's deluding himself...But I don't think we could even remotely like Will if there wasn't some degree of self-delusion because what he's clearly gonna do to this young girl, it's gonna break her heart- or he's gonna end up on the tracks again," Carmack said. "He can't live a lie for the rest of his life. It's ridiculous."

Nashville airs on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
