The highly anticipated new season of Under the Dome is set to premiere in June, and three of its main characters will find themselves in a very precarious situation.

Cast Wants Big Jim Rennie To Be Killed Off In Season 2?

Season 2 of Under the Dome will feature both murder and attempted murder, according to a new report by E! Online. The report claims that three major players in Chester's Mill will be thrown in jail by the season's fourth episode for their murder plots.

These murders are probably connected to the previous announcement that two members of the main cast of characters would be killed off in the premiere episode. As executive producer Neal Baer said previously, "no one is safe in this town."

Country Music Legend Set To Play 'Complicated' Role Against Big Jim?

Under the Dome's second season is looking to be centered on Big Jim (Dean Norris) even more than season 1.

Eddie Cahill (CSI: NY) is slated to appear as Big Jim's brother-in-law Sam, a former EMT who forms a "deep connection" with Julia (Rachelle Lefevre). Additionally, Karla Crome (Misfits) has signed on to play Rebecca, a young schoolteacher who ends up causing trouble for Big Jim.

Additionally, ER vet Sherry Stringfield is also slated to guest star in season 2 as Pauline, who may or may not be Big Jim's presumed dead wife and the mother of Junior (Alexander Koch).

The season 2 premiere of Under the Dome is written by Stephen King, the author of the novel of the same name.

Under the Dome season 2 premieres Monday, June 30 at 10 p.m. on CBS.Watch a trailer for the second season of Under the Dome here:
