The actor said that he was psyched about coming on board for the fifth film in the sci-fi franchise but still recalls being upset about not being able to be a part of the Terminator: Salvation because of his gubernatorial duties.

"I was upset that I couldn't be in the fourth Terminator, because I was governor [of California]," he said. "So they did the fourth one without me, it made me cry a little bit. But I did say, 'I'll be back,' so now I'm back again and it's going to be really terrific."

Schwarzenegger was also honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Empire Magazine Awards on March 30. At the event, the 66-year-old actor spoke about enjoying London, working out and his inputs in Terminator 5: Genesis.

Schwarzenegger joked about enjoying British desserts and how he had put on all the weight he had lost by working out. When questioned about his input in the sci-fi franchise and its fifth instalment, he suggested that while he did have an input in the film at the end of the day the director was the one-in-charge. He said they get a director to "take charge and be the leader of the team," adding that they were looking forward to the next Terminator.
