It looks like Star Wars: Episode VII may have found its leading female role- and it could be someone who has never been in a movie before.

Zac Efron To Land A Part In Episode VII?

On Wednesday, The Hollywood Reporter said that an unknown actress named Maisie Richardson-Sellers could have been chosen for an important role in the latest saga directed by J.J. Abrams. Apparently, the filmmakers are finding their cast members in London, and this actress could be the new light saber queen.

Richardson-Sellers is reportedly a student from Oxford, and has performed mainly in theater. Some of her stage credits include For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide, Mephisto and There Will Be Red.

The actress's manager has reportedly not returned any phone calls on the situation. But if Richardson-Sellers is indeed up for a role, it could be based on recent rumors that Abrams wanted to cast unknown actors for the role who are of different ethnicities. Considering that Richardson-Sellers has dark skin, this could mean that the rumors are true.

According to Metro, Lost star Dominic Monaghan stated that Abrams is looking for new actors in Episode VII.

"We've talked a few times about it and he said, 'We're putting together a cast of unknowns- we want to follow the '77 New Hope cast because obviously Harrison Ford wasn't well-known at that point, Mark Hamill wasn't and Carrie Fisher wasn't either," Monaghan said.

Variety also pointed out that non-Caucasian actors could be up for roles.

Star Wars: Episode VII is expected to hit theaters on December 18, 2015.
