It looks like there might be some hope after all for the chances of Iron Man 4 being made.

Robert Downey, Jr. To Be Replaces With Another Actor?

On Thursday, Screen Rant posted a story on the possibility of the superhero Marvel film taking place in the future, noting it's mainly a matter of when. Robert Downey, Jr. made approximately $130 million from The Avengers and Iron Man 3 put together, which supposedly earned himself a decent negotiation with his agents to reprise his role as Tony Stark in The Avengers: Age of Ultron and The Avengers 3.

Iron Man 4 was apparently not on the list. However, it does create some speculation that if the next two Avengers movies do well, then there might be a glimmer of hope for a fourth Iron Man movie.

Ben Kingsley To Reprise His Role As Trevor Slattery?

The site mentioned that the third Avengers film is expected to hit theaters in 2018, at which point Downey, Jr. will have turned 53. Considering that he recently told The Edge that filmmakers tend to want to start over with younger actors, it's doubtful that if Tony Stark were to have his own film again, although it is possible that another actor could take the role.

In a recent video from IGN, Chris Tilly mentioned that he spoke to Iron Man 3 co-writer about the chances of a fourth film taking place, which appeared to be somewhat slim.

"I said, 'Would you direct an Iron Man film in the future and he almost had to stop himself," Tilly said about Pearce. "I felt like he was saying that Downey Jr. doesn't want to do another one in which case he doesn't think there'll be another one or certainly not for a long time."
