The Lego game for The Hobbit trilogy hints at the problems with the film, according to a recent review.

Sauron to Return and Defeat the White Council in The Hobbit: There and Back Again?

While the game is out ahead of the movie release of the last in the trilogy, The Hobbit: There and Back Again, only the first two parts are available, the third in the series is being held for until December and can be downloaded seperately.

On April 14, Metro came out with a review for the game and it seems like it hasn't quite made the cut.

While the review complained about forgettable characters and a lack of visual variety in the game, it landed its final blow, also being unsparing toward the films, in suggesting that the game mimics the issues of The Hobbit trilogy:

"It's also hard not to notice that the game has exactly the same problem as the movies, in that many of its sequences are far too reminiscent of The Lord Of The Rings, except never quite as interesting."

The DVD and Blu-ray for The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug was also recently released on April 8.
