The "real-life" version of Orange is the New Black character Alex Vause (Laura Prepon) has broken her silence about the Netflix show's accuracy in what she experienced in prison.

Piper & Larry Do "Irreparable Damage" To Their Relationship in Season 2?

Catherine Cleary Wolters, who is essentially the "real" Alex Vause in Piper Kerman's memoir on which the series was based, spoke with Vanity Fair recently about the Netflix series. Wolters clarified one detail that was embellished for the show in season 1.

"We did not have sex in prison," she said. "Not even a little bit."

Orange is the New Black Writer Piper Kerman Calls Out Prison System

In the first season, Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), who is the fictionalized Kerman, and Alex Vause go to prison, where they rekindled their relationship. Meanwhile, the true story of what went down between the two of them might be too dramatic for the show.

Wolters said that what occurred was "so wretched and stinky, it would quite possibly result in a collapsed universe. So I guess it's a good thing Piper and [showrunner] Jenji [Kohan] stick with the fun little tidbits."

While the show was not entirely accurate to Wolters' relationship with Kerman, the former will still be watching.

"But I watched, and of course I'll watch the rest," she said. "I can't help it. It's a great show. The actors are incredible, the story line is interesting, and come on, who doesn't want to see Donna from That '70s Show [Prepon] have lesbian sex?"

Orange is the New Black season 2 premieres in full on Friday, June 6 through Netflix Instant.
