Tony Dovolani, who is partnered with reality star NeNe Leakes on the current season of Dancing With the Stars, expressed his disappointment with the way he was edited during a clip package Monday night. The clip showed the pair arguing back and forth during rehearsal.

Dovolani expressed his frustrations with the show to Us Weekly after the airing.

"Apparently I was the villain," Dovolani said. "We had just both flown a red-eye to New York, we were both tired, the switch-up didn't do us any good. It put a bump in the road and we had a little tiff!"

Dovolani and Leakes were forced to switch partners during week 4 for the big Switch Up twist, with Dovolani having to dance with actress Candace Cameron Bure and Leakes having to dance with Derek Hough. The pro defended himself after noting that all couples fight.

"What couple doesn't?" he said. "They chose to show ours and make a story out of it... and that's fine."

Leakes told Dovolani that he had an attitude after she sensed negative energy from him.

"If you want to go back to Candace, you call production so you can go back to Candace...I don't deserve an attitude. So goodbye," she said at the time.

Dovolani noted that it was very difficult for him to see himself as "the villain," though he added that it was good TV. Leakes herself was shocked by the edit of the clip package as well, allegedly asking Dovolani why they had done it to him.

The pair had apologized to each other later that week.

Dancing With the Stars season 18 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
