Though the possibility of a fourth season of the hit Discovery Channel show Amish Mafia still hangs in the balance, it appears that some fans are as sick of the show as the cast appears to be.

Fake Claims Resurface As Fate of 'Amish Mafia' Remains Undetermined?

While the cast halted filming on season 3 back in February and have not reportedly signed on for a fourth season, some outlets are beginning to express frustration that the show ever aired, and are calling for Discovery not to renew the program at all.

In an April 15 editorial on Lancaster Online, the show was referred to as absurd and made references to previous claims the show is fake, by calling the cast "characters" and talking about their lives off-camera.

Esther and John Addressing Show's Return During Meet and Greet Event?

One claim the editorial raises that proves the show is absurd and fake is star Esther Schmucker's recent scolding by a judge for getting into contact with her abusive ex-boyfriend, Imir R. Williams, after a no-contact order was put into place late last year. Williams was sentenced to have no contact with Schmucker after assaulting her on Halloween 2013, breaking her nose, cheekbone and several teeth in the process.

The editorial also raises issue with the criminal records that the rest of the cast has, as well as the fact that Levi King Stoltzfus, a.k.a. Lebanon Levi, is actually not from Lancaster, but Lebanon county.

After pointing out these facts, the editorial then calls for the show to no longer be on Discovery's lineup.

"There is some question as to whether Amish Mafia will return for a fourth season. Here's hoping it doesn't," the editorial says.

While it appears the writers of the editorial are not fans of a fourth season, Discovery did announce that the show had been renewed, despite the cast's decision to not continue filming.

Though the only official comment she has made on the subject was to tell a fan she hadn't signed on for a fourth season, Schmucker may be considering coming back around to doing the show after another fan posed a solution to the problems the cast seemed to have with the Discovery camera and editing crew on her Facebook page.

"Esther, the show is good, the producers know this. If you intend to continue filming then put a clause in your contract that you have 'final editing rights' before shown! ~Should help," the fan wrote to her April 15.

"Great idea," Schmucker responded.
