HYDRA has brought the world of SHIELD crashing to its knees, but Agent Coulson's personal life will soon throw a crimp in his battle plans on Agents of SHIELD.

What's Next For Coulson In The HYDRA War?

Agent Garrett's (Bill Paxton) seemingly offhanded reference to Coulson's (Clark Gregg) cellist girlfriend during "Providence" will come to bear weight during "The Only Light in the Darkness." The Clairvoyant released the cellist's (Amy Acker) old nemesis from the Fridge, and the race is on for Coulson's team to stop Blackout (Patrick Brennan) before he sucks the life out of their leader's old love interest.

Marcus Daniels, a.k.a. Blackout, can suck the energy out of anything and he was the original reason Coulson meet the musically inclined Audrey.

Brett Dalton Explains Agents Ward's New Role, Lingering Ties To Coulson's Team

"This guy, Marcus Daniels, a.k.a. Blackout, was shrouded in darkness, his soul, everything about him was shrouded in darkness until he comes across this Cello player. And the music was the only light that came into his soul, and it gave him hope and it gave him some sense of what light was," Brennan explained to Marvel.com.

Unfortunately for Audrey, Blackout's constant presence was not mutually beneficial. SHIELD stepped in to save the day once before, and Audrey will trust them to do so once more.

"I think probably her relationship with Coulson and with S.H.I.E.L.D., and what they did for her in the past, has made her a stronger person and made her really trust that if she does what they say, that things are going to turn out the way they should and that she's going to be protected," Acker said, according to Marvel.com.

Don't worry, hwoever. The HYDRA vs. SHIELD plot will still be progressing as well, just back at Providence with Agent Koenig (Patton Oswalt).
