Columbus Short's recent alleged assault on his wife Tanee Short has many Scandal fans wondering if he will be fired from the drama series.

According to TMZ,Tanee cited irreconciable differences and stated that she wanted sole custody of their 2-year-old daughter, Ayala. The report indicated that the 31-year-old actor had a knife in his hand and tried to choke his wife, forcing her to play a game called, "Truth or Truth."

He reportedly believed that his wife was cheated and told her if she lied, he'd stab her in the leg.

On Thursday, the same night of the Scandal season 3 finale, Columbus released a statement about his wife's allegations.

"As you all know, lately my personal life has been subjected to a lot of press. As much as I would like to provide my side of events, my counsel has instructed me that a Court of law is the only and proper venue to deal with such matters. Accordingly, I must refrain from making any comments even though that is very difficult for me under the circumstances. Thank you to my fans for your continued support during this difficult time."

Fans have asked Scandal's creator, Shonda Rhimes to fire him, and although the finale was taped before the incident occurred, Columbus' character Harrison may not be back for another season.

The finale ended with Olivia Pope's dad Joe Morton pressing a gun to his head.
