Though senior year of Awkward may start out with Matty and Jenna engaging in a Friends With Benefits type of relationship, she may not be the only girl he takes to bed.

Jenna To Move On With New Guy Despite Lingering Felings For Matty?

In an extended promo clip for the first half of season 4, a brief scene shows the two characters appearing to wake up after what looks like a drunken hook-up.

They are lying in a bed, with Sadie cradled in Matty's arms and clutching a blanket to cover her chest. Matty is shirtless.

Season 4 Drama To Be 'Super-Sized?'

At the MTV Movie Awards on April 13, Molly Tarlov and Beau Mirchoff, who play Sadie and Mattie, both teased that their characters could potentially find romance with each other, despite Matty's beneficial relationship with Jenna and potential chemistry with new girl Emma (Elizabeth Whitson), and Sadie's own relationship with Austin (Shane Harper).

"Sadie's going to be dealing with a lot of stuff, I mean she's going to be dealing with her relationship with Austin, and there's going to be some bumps and we're going to see how she deals with a lot of that," Tarlov said.

Tarlov also hinted that along with her problems she may encounter with Austin, she could wind up finding comfort with Matty.

"We're going to see way more of Sadie and Matty," she said.

Mirchoff also teased the chances of his romantic future on the show outside of Jenna.

"I like Matty, I think that he's just a genuinely good person, and I would like to see him end up with someone who doesn't cheat on him," he said.

Though Sadie and Matty have always been friends on the show, the two did almost hook up once before. In the season 2 premiere, after Jenna left Matty alone so she could confirm her relationship with Jake, Sadie came in and comforted him because she had a crush on him at the time. The two were in the process of hooking up, but Matty passed out midway through.

Awkward airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on MTV.
