In an interview with TVFanatic on April 15, the CW series' producer Andrew Kreisberg spoke about how Oliver Queen's (Stephen Amell) character arc will evolve towards the end of season 2 which will affect how season 3 will start.

Kreisberg said that Oliver's family's financialy situation will suffer and the downward spiral will "play out in the last five episodes" of season 2.
