"So blissful in taking this time for creating all things blossoming new on the horizon...album, baby & beautiful music to come," she wrote on Twitter on Saturday.

This comes two months after Aguilera revealed in February that she was pregnant with Matthew Rutler's child. The couple, who began their romance in 2010 after they met on the set of the film Burlesque, also became engaged that same month.

Aguilera's next record will be the follow-up to 2012's Lotus, which included the upbeat single Your Body and the Blake Shelton-assisted ballad, Just a Fool. The album peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart, which isn't common for the multiplatinum recording artist. For example her fourth studio album, Bionic, reached No. 3 on the charts, while her previous three - Back to Basics, Stripped and her self-titled debut - didn't fall below No. 2.

Aside from her own albums, the vocal powerhouse has also appeared on a handful of successful singles in the past few years. In 2011, she collaborated with her Voice co-star Adam Levine for Moves Like Jagger and the upbeat single topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Last year, she also lent her vocals to A Great Big World's Say Something and Pitbull's Feel This Moment.
