Doctor Who is known for bringing it's main actors back from across time and space, but will Matt Smith and David Tennant ever occupy the same TARDIS again?

If Smith has his way, the answer would be an emphatic yes.

Just a month before Smith completed his tenure as the Eleventh Doctor, he had the chance to participate in the Doctor Who 50 th Anniversary special alongside Tennant and John Hurt (the War Doctor). Although each of these Doctors has since regenerated, Smith is holding on to hope that the Converse-wearing Ten (Tennant) and his bow tie-donning Eleven will be able to team up once more.

"It was a real historic moment for me. I always look at David and go, 'Oh my god. It's Doctor Who!'" Smith said of his time working on "The Day of the Doctor," according to Doctor Who TV.

"David is a great guy and a good friend. It was so fun. Doctors in the same room is just magic, isn't it! I'll happily come back for another anniversary!"

Tennant, meanwhile, probably wouldn't mind popping back into his pinstriped suit alongside his quirky future self, not after having such a good time working together for the anniversary.

"It's funny, I think people almost expected Matt and me to be at loggerheads, but we've really enjoyed it," Tennant told the BBC. "It's delicious to be handed a situation that's completely new and a character meeting a version of himself is not something that you come across in a lot of drama. So to get to play that with someone as talented and as quick and brilliant as Matt is nothing short of jolly good fun."
