The popular CBS crime thriller, Criminal Minds, is winding down its ninth season, as it gears up for its tenth. Actor Shemar Moore, who portrays Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) Derek Morgan, and executive producer (EP) Erica Messer, both recently revealed some intriguing clues about the upcoming two-part finale, Angels and Demons, and hinted about season 10.

Criminal Minds' Episode 23 'Angels,' The BAU Actually Deals With 'Demons?'

By now, fans may have noticed the program's tendency to close a season by killing off characters, or leaving them in very risky situations, or perhaps even on a cliffhanging note, as previously done in earlier seasons. Reportedly, these tactics are a surefire way to make its audience anxious about what will happen next, and thus tune in for the subsequent season.

When TV Guide recently asked Erica Messer about the two-part finale airing in May, she seemed to utilize those very tactics in her response. While revealing that the season finale is slated to be "one of the more twisted finales we've done," Messer also noted that "Someone might be in jeopardy." Additionally, it sounds like fans can expect to be biting their nails on the edge of their seat, as she guaranteed "it's going to be action-packed from beginning to end." What's more, the EP teased the idea of it possibly being a cliffhanger, stating, "We did get an early pickup this year."

Season 9... YES, there WILL be a season 10!!! But DEREK MORGAN and the team have to deal with a S--- STORM in the FINALE!!!" commented Moore. Underneath another one of his pictures in character as SSA Morgan, he posted "DEREK MORGAN GOT GRAZED BY A BULLET!!!! I'm too fast... Can't hit what you can't see!!!!
