Tony DiNozzo's "case-driven" story in the penultimate episode on season 11 of NCIS is one the executive producer promises will be a good one.

Abby Shows New Side With Drama And Emotion?

"I wanted to send Tony off on an assignment that lands him in Marcé and Tony has some experience in France," Gary Glasberg recently told TVFanatic.com. "And it's always fun for us, and a challenge for us, to try to recreate it."

Although Tony (Michael Weatherly) will be sent overseas alone, Glasberg explained that the team will also be involved from the Washington, D.C. offices.

Is NCIS Coming Back For Season 12?

"We're in the middle of filming that now and I'm pleased with what I've been seeing and I think it's going to be fun," Glasberg added. "It's a lot of action and intrigue and Michael is doing great."

Aside from Tony's big story, the final episodes will also focus on Ralph Waite's passing. Waite, a veteran actor whose career spanned over 50 years, died on Feb. 13 at the age of 85. He recurred in the CBS show as the father of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, played by Mark Harmon.

"So we put our heads together and decided we wanted to do a story about Leroy Jethro Gibb and Harmon's character," Glasberg also said. "We do some flashbacks, we get to see him as a child and we get to see him with a young Ralph Waite, who we're in the middle of casting right now."

-- The NCIS season 11 finale will air on Tuesday, May 13 at 8/7c on CBS.
