Some new information on Star Wars: Episode VII has been reportedly released, including a possible connection the older episodes as well as the Expanded Universe.

Karen Gillan Will 'Sort Of' Be In Episode VII?

On Sunday, IGN posted a brief interview with screenwriter and producer Simon Kinberg who mentioned that although he couldn't say too much on the content, he loves Boba Fett and all the other characters. He then addressed the chances of the Expanded Universe taking place and keeping in touch with the other Star Wars movies.

"For me- and I know that this was true for J.J. [Abrams] and Larry Kasdan [screenwriter], obviously, and Kathy Kennedy [producer], and Michael Arndt [writer], it was all about sort of honoring the original movies and yet wanting to take a step forward, too, and tell a new story," Kinberg said.

One Character Confirmed For Episode VII?

"[The Expanded Universe] is not off limits," he continued. "It's certainly inspiring, and I'm working on a new animated show for them as well - Star Wars: Rebels - that will take inspiration from everywhere. But I know for the movies, the canon is the canon, and the canon is the six films that exist."

This information could give fans multiple theories on what the plot of the seventh film will be, potentially involving the Expanded Universe, taking moments from the first films and an appearance from Boba Fett.

As for the cast, actors rumored for a part have included of Zac Efron, Adam Driver and Lupita Nyong'o.

Star Wars: Episode VII is expected to hit theaters on December 18, 2015.
