Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (SVU) returns to the NBC airwaves next week Wednesday, on April 30. The upcoming episode 21, Post-Mortem Blues, is slated to be one crazy ride for Officer Olivia Benson, who is still being haunted by the repercussions of her life-threatening encounters with the late serial rapist, William Lewis.

As the SVU season finale, Spring Awakening, steadily approaches, the mental trauma plaguing actress Mariska Hargitay's character, Officer Benson, seems to be steadily increasing. "Moving into the finale, some of the trauma will still remain, but Benson's mental state will be just one of many questions that needs to be investigated and hopefully resolved," told a report Tuesday.

What's more, executive producer Warren Leight shed some light on the matter when he postulated, "Among the questions on the table: Will Olivia get the squad? Will there be a new captain? Will he stay? Will she get the squad back? What happens to baby boy Doe ... This guy wants to haunt [Benson] for the rest of her life and one of the questions is, will she let him do that?"

Likewise, a TV Guide synopsis for Post-Mortem Blues reads: "Benson is investigated following William Lewis' death, and a prosecutor convenes a grand jury and calls for her arrest. While two lieutenants advise Benson to save her career at all costs, she wrestles with what's the right thing to do." It sounds like Benson is definitely caught between a rock and a hard place in this episode.

Tune in to NBC on Wednesday, April 30 at 9 p.m. to learn which decisions she will make, or will be made for her.
