The limited, 10-episode FX series, Fargo, has received a high viewer turnout, as it heads into its third episode of the first season already. The dark comedy-crime drama is about a negative drifter (Billy Bob Thornton) who has an adverse impact on a small-town salesman (Martin Freeman) he meets, and subsequently sends him down a destructive path. However, recent reports suggest that the roles may actually be getting to the heads of the actors in real-life, instead of just on the show.

Reportedly, Thornton has given up on being a director, as he is thoroughly enjoying his new role on television, starring in Fargo. "Billy Bob Thornton is happy to be on television--anything to get him work, now that he has retired from directing," told a report Tuesday.

Likewise, his 42-year-old English co-star, Martin Freeman, seems to be enjoying his role as the "crazed killer," Lester Nygaard, that much more. The Hobbit actor revealed that, "he could always tell that he had the capacity to behave like a rapist, if only given the opportunity."

What's more, he continued gushing to TV Guide Monday, about how much he loves playing the more "scuzzy" type of characters. "I just loved it. I've said to my agents for ages in a kind of lighthearted way that I think I need to play a serial killer, a f---ing rapist, drug dealer, whatever," exclaimed Freeman. Additionally, The Office U.K. funnyman explained that his reasoning for this is because people are not used to seeing him in that way, and he'd like to "flex those muscles again." Moreover, he cleared the air and stated that while he is not "a serial killer or anything... [he has] those moments where you do want to throw someone out of a window." "It's always the quiet ones."
