The season 2 premiere is titled Heads Will Roll and it will feature the death of two major characters. Written by Stephen King (who wrote the novel on which the TV show is based), the premiere may even feature the introduction of some new characters.

Among the new characters set to make their debuts in season 2 are Sam Verdreaux (Eddie Cahill), the brother-in-law of Big Jim Rennie (Dean Norris), Rebecca Pine (Karla Crome), a schoolteacher who also works with Big Jim and is very science-oriented, and Melanie (Grace Victoria Cox), a woman pulled from the lake by Julia (Rachelle Lefevre).

New promotional photos have been released from the premiere episode, which show the townsfolk of Chester's Mill being dragged around and passing out, likely due to the dome. Another photo shows King on the set enjoying a cup of coffee with the show's cast.

In other Under the Dome spoiler news, there will be yet another new character introduced in the eighth episode of the new season, according to TVLine Wednesday. The new character's name is Hunter and he is a teen who"doesn't subscribe to any programmer stereotypes or labels" despite being very tech-savvy per the casting notice.

The report describes Hunter as a "free-thinking foster kid who speaks his mind."

Under the Dome season 2 premieres Monday, June 30 at 10 p.m. on CBS.
