Chris Brown is distraught that his he has to spend more time in jail and reportedly broke down in tears to Karrueche Tran before his Washington D.C. assault trial was about to start on Wednesday.

According to reports, the Loyal singer got emotional and cried about being locked up longer than he expected.

"Kae couldn't believe it because he's rarely ever emotional with her," a source close to the couple told Hollywoodlife, adding, "He told her he's tired and that he couldn't sleep and how he doesn't know if he'll be able to fall asleep because he's nervous."

The source revealed that Brown rarely reveals his soft side to Tran.

"He told her to keep her fingers crossed for him and keep good thoughts because he doesn't know what's going to happen," the source said.

Brown is up against charges that he struck a man named Parker Adams during Howard University's homecoming in October 2013. The singer claimed his innocence and that he did not hit Adams. The singer's bodyguard Christopher Hollosy was expected to testify for him, but he was recently found guilty of assault.

CNN reported that Hollosy was not justified in hitting Adams since there was no evidence, D.C. Superior Judge Patricia Wynn said.

Howard University student Jalen Garrison testified in the Hollosy trial that she and a friend were posing for photos on the sidewalk with Brown when Adams, her boyfriend, tried to take his own picture with Brown.

Brown reportedly got angry, telling Adams, "I don't like that gay s***," she testified.

Brown swung at Adams, striking him in the face, Garrison said.
