As The Wahlberg clan prepares to expand their successful burger restaurant Wahlburgers, plans to expand to Philadelphia could be hitting some snags.

JIm Wahlberg Joining Brothers In Burger Adventure?

In an April 24 article, the Philadelphia Business Journal asks is the chain is necessary in Philadelphia, where the plan is to open five new restaurants. After the first phase of expansion is complete, the area will have the largest concentration of Wahlburgers restaurants-three additional ones will be located in Boston, and one will be located in Toronto.

Though it may seem like the article is opposed to the chain opening its doors in the city, even competitors seem welcoming, and are happy the chain is moving in.

Mark Wahlberg Intentionally Cast In A Negative Light?

"Any city making a turnaround starts with food," Meryl Levitz, the President and CEO of Visit Philadelphia said. "Food is really the way to people's hearts. Philadelphia has now gotten to that critical mass where it can really tout the food scene."

If the chain wasn't necessarily being welcomes in the area, it could force Mark, Donnie and Paul Wahlberg to expand their restaurant elsewhere.

It is unclear of the building of the new restaurants in Philadelphia will be a part of the hit reality show also named Wahlburgers. During the first season, the new Toronto restaurant location was featured in an episode which saw Paul flying up to see the place his brother's had purchased-and finding an abandoned hair salon.
