It seems Prince Harry won’t be following in the footsteps of his older brother anytime soon since his love story with Cressida Bonas may have come to an end.

The couple has called it quits after almost two years of dating, according to People magazine on Tuesday.

“He found her too needy and it just wasn’t working out,” an unnamed source told the magazine.

Rumors of a problematic relationship started in January after reports stated that Bonas didn’t want to become a royal.

"Harry wants to settle down and get married like his brother. But Cressie is still young and had huge reservations about marrying into the royal family,” a source told Showbiz Spy.

Bonas' brother Jacobi Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe also spoke to the Evening Standard about his sister's mindset in November 2013.

"It's challenging, you can't deny it. It's not something that is easy for anyone dating a royal or marrying into the family or anyone in the royal family themselves," he said.

"It's just an invasion of privacy, which is hard. I mean, there are people who court that, and it's a different mentality. But when you're not, and you have to spend your life hiding from it, I think that becomes very exhausting and quite hard work."

Although the couple had usually kept a low profile, Prince Harry and Bonas were recently spotted enjoying some quality time together. Bonas even supported her former beau as he gave a speech at London’s Wembley Arena in March for the launch of the We Day, which supports Save the Children. It was their first official event together.

Prince Harry, 29, and Bonas, 24, had been together since 2012.
