Mariah Carey finally unveiled the title, cover, release date and tracklist for her 14th album on Wednesday. Me. I Am Mariah...The Elusive Chanteuse will be available for purchase on May 27.

Mariah Carey Denies The Retirement Rumors

As explained in a YouTube clip, the superstar derived the first part of the title from her "first and only self-portrait," which appears on the album's back cover. The picture was drawn when Carey was a child.

"Please don't judge me for such a simplistic title. Come on, I was only three and a half," she says in the clip. "It was a creative visualization of how I saw myself with the purity of a child's heart before it was ever broken."

Mariah Carey Explains How Her Twins Influenced Her New Album

The second part of the title comes from a recent nickname others have given her, "The Elusive Chanteuse."

Carey also explained another reason she chose the personal title adding, "This album is a reflection of some of the peaks and valleys that have made me who I am today. I've decided to share it with those of you who actually care and have been here for me through it all."

The follow-up to 2009's Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel will also feature collaborations with Nas, Miguel, Wale and Fabolous as well as Carey's twins, Monroe and Moroccan, who just turned 3 years old.
