American Idol said goodbye to Jessica Meuse on Thursday as the series narrowed down their contestants to the Top 3.

Meuse is no stranger to being at the bottom of the pack, and the singer found herself in the Bottom 2 once more following a rough Top 4 performance. Each competitor was required to take on three love songs (break-ups, make-ups, personal dedication) on Wednesday night, and Meuse failed to impress America with her performances.

For her Top 4 performances, Meuse's renditions of Kelly Clarkson's Since U Been Gone and P!nk's So What managed to completely underwhelm the judges and Meuse only received positive feedback for her work on Lady Gaga's You and I.

While Meuse certainly received the worst news of the evening, Alex Preston was also crossing his fingers and toes after he fell into the Bottom 2 as well. However, Preston's performances of Alex Clare's Too Close, Jason Mraz's I'm Yours, and Coldplay's Yellow managed to impress voters enough to keep him alive for another week.

Next week, Idol's top 3 - Preston, Jena Irene, and Caleb Johnson - will journey back to their hometowns.

American Idol will return Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on Fox with the Top 3.
