Michael Sam, the first openly gay pro football player made headlines after he was caught on camera kissing his boyfriend Vito Cammisano moments after he was drafted by the St. Louis Rams.

Additional details about their relationship have been revealed about the mystery man.

Cammisano, is a 23-year-old fellow University of Missouru alum who swam on the University of Missouri's swim team from 2009-2012. He graduated last year.

Shortly after Sam was drafted, Cammisano took to Twitter to express his excitement.

"We are staying home! Could not be more proud of my babe," he wrote.

Cammisano has "liked" only one athlete on Facebook: Michael Sam. His social media feeds include pictures of the two on trips and spending time with each other.

According to The New York Daily News, Cammisano came out to his fellow Mizzou swimmers in 2011. His relatives spoke to the papers and said positive things about him and Sam.

"He's been a pleasant, pleasant boy all his life," Cammisano's aunt, Cathy Nigro, said about her nephew.

"I was very proud of them both," Nigro said regarding the kiss. "I think the whole family is."

Back in February when Sam came out, he told ESPN that he was nervous about coming out.

"I was kind of scared, even though they already knew. Just to see their reaction was awesome. They supported me from Day One. I couldn't have better teammates. ... I'm telling you what: I wouldn't have the strength to do this today if I didn't know how much support they'd given me this past semester," Sam said.
