The MTV series is running through rivers of fake blood as the cast continues to film for this summer's fourth season.

Melissa Ponzio (Mrs. McCall) has been keeping fans updated on the gore levels at Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital, and the sanguine situation is looking pretty dire.

"Overheard on #teenwolf set today..."more blood...or, just do something" more blood it is!!" Ponzio tweeted on Thursday alongside a massive - and very reflective- pool of blood on what appears to be a hall floor.

Unfortunately for the supernatural beings of Beacon Hills, this is not the only plasma soaked photo Mama McCall has posted as of late. Over the last few weeks, Ponzio has treated followers to photos of a blood smeared elevator, hospital cart, and the shoes of some poor hapless victim as they lay next to a puddle of their own vital liquid.

Writer Ian Stokes may be able to illuminate the reasons behind the recent bloodshed.

"Huge body count, though, always," Stokes told Hypable of the upcoming season. "We need a lot of decapitated prop corpses this season."

Hopefully none of those decapitations will involve Scott McCall's (Tyler Posey) budding pack.
