The Supernatural season finale is nearly upon us, and Jensen Ackles has hinted that the Winchester brothers are in for an "eye-opening" series of events following the chorus of a particular Kansas tune.

Sam & Dean's Fight Will 'Come To A Head' In 'Supernatural' Finale, Role Reversal & Bonding Moment Promised

Titled "Do You Believe In Miracles," the season finale will see the culmination of Dean's (Ackles) Mark of Cain battle and Castile's (Misha Collins) war against Metatron (Curtis Armstrong). Now that Dean has fallen even deeper in love with the siren song of the First Blade, Sam (Jared Padalecki) will have to intervene to keep his older brother from ganking everything with a pulse.

However, this won't go over well with Dean, especially considering he's hell bent on putting a knife through Metatron.

Cain To Return To 'Supernatural'? Will Tim Omundson Help Remove Dean's Mark

"Dean needs a target. He needs a mission. He needs a goal. As long as he has something, as long as he has a bone to chew, then he's going to keep chewing it," Ackles explained to IGN. "You know, Sam's a little bit more contemplative when it comes to what's happening and kind of stepping back and looking at the big picture, where as Dean's very kind of blinders on, keep your head down, keep motoring ahead. He's a bit of a workhorse in that regard. So, I think that might be detrimental to him this season."

Dean kept his head down until he killed Abaddon (Alaina Huffman), blocking out the potential ramifications of receiving the Mark and trying to ignore the current problems, and now he will have to pay the price.

"[Dean's] kind of been given a bit of a rough hand this season. He always knew that there could be some repercussions with his choices, and I think we're going to see, well, I know were going to see what those repercussions are," Ackles said, according to IGN, later adding, "I don't want to give too much away but it was a bit of an eye opener."
