As the cast and crew of The Hobbit: Part 3 is headlong into filming the final chapter of the trilogy, more spoilers and plot reveals have been coming to the fore. Enstars rounds up all that is known about the film so far.

'Smaug Will Be A Killing Machine' And 'Destroy The Place' In 'Exciting Opening Sequence'?

So the official title of the film has finally been decided upon and it is now titled, The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies. Peter Jackson very recently decided to change the name from There and Back Again.

While it seems like the plot will be sticking to the orginal Tolkien story, fans had recently petitioned to keep Thorin Oakenshield alive -- he dies in the books -- only time will tell if this will have any bearing on the film adaptation.

Smaug Up Against Godzilla In Dragon Wars? 

The biggest moment of the film will be the epic battle, with the enemy forces led by the dragon Smaug. It was recently revealed that the film will open with the sequence of Smaug wreaking havoc in Lake Town and he will be something of a "killing machine."

Another very interesting highlight witll be the retrun of Sauron. After Sauron made a daunting appearance in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug it is being suggested that the necromancer will return and fight the White Council. But it is also believed that the White Council will most probably defeat him.

The Hobbit Part 3 Plot To Change, Take Detour From Book And Keep Oakenshield Alive? 

As Thorin will lead his forces against the enemy he will be the man of the hour. Richard Armitage who plays the dwark king revealed that Thorin's real storyline will be crystallized in The Battle of Five Armies.

What might be a small disappointment for fans, The Battle of Five Armies is also going to be shorter than the first two in the trilogy. 

The Hobbit: There and Back Again will hit theaters on December 18.
