Monica Potter, who plays Kristina Braverman on NBC's Parenthood, opened up about the show's next and final season in a new interview with The Los Angeles Times.

"Even though this is the end of the series this year, I honestly don't think that the writers will tie everything up in a nice tidy bow," she said. "I think that they'll leave it open because that's our style. It's left unperfected and undone."

Potter plays a wife, mother and friend on the show, and her character has gone through several difficult situations, including battling breast cancer and raising a son with Asperger syndrome. She also ran for mayor but didn't have a successful campaign. Although she has no idea what's in store for next season, Potter said that she hopes it will be more lighthearted.

"I just want to have fun," she said. "I want to laugh more this year."

Parenthood's renewal was announced last week after much uncertainty of a season 6. Fans will now get to see the Braverman family for 13 more episodes next season at the same time -- Thursdays at 10 p.m. EST.

"All of us collectively were very excited to go back and to finish the season and the series in a great way," Potter said of her cast members. "I'm sort of going to dedicate this season to the fans because they keep us going."
